The product group covers cleaning of liquid damaged electronic products like mobile phones, tablets and personal computers.

Cleaning of liquid damaged electronics is in itself a business that stimulate the circular economy, since it prolongs the lifetime of the electronic product and thereby reduces the amount of electronic waist and the need to produce new electronic product.

The Nordic Swan Ecolabel focus on assuring that the costumer experiences the service as a good alternative to throwing out and buying new products, and to assure that the service is done with as small an environmental impact as possible.

  • Involves limited use of energy and water.
  • Only uses Ecolabelled cleaning agents.
  • Ensures the correct handling of electronic waste.

    Annual licence fee

    The annual fee is calculated based on the number of units saved from the workshops that are part of the licence (in the whole world).

    1 EUR per successful laptop & 0.5 EUR per successful tablet and phone.

    Minimum annual fee 2 167 EUR + VAT per year
    Maximum fee No maximum fee

    * When both the applicant and the manufacturer are micro-enterprises, the fee is reduced by 50%. A micro-enterprise is in this context defined as an enterprise with less than 10 employees and an annual turnover (of both ecolabelled and not ecolabelled products) below 2 million EUR.

    ** Where audits requires more than one day away from the office including travelling, Nordic Ecolabelling can invoice an additional fee of 1 083 EUR per extra day. Other extraordinary costs induced by the audit can also be invoiced the applicant.

    *** As for an extension of or amendments to a licence, time consumed in connection with the review process will be invoiced according to the extent of the required task. We make a distinction between entirely administrative tasks that last less than 1 hour, and all other tasks that last between 1 and 4 hours, between 4 and 8 hours and more than 8 hours.

    Same price applies all over the world.

    The recipient is liable for the VAT according to article 56 of the Council Directive 2006/112/EC.

    1.1 ⇛ 1.2: Prolongation of the validity of the criteria

    The valdity of the criteria has been prolonged with 6 months. The new version is called 1.2. and is valid to 1 June 2025.

    1.0 ⇛ 1.1: Adjustment of requirements

    In requirement O2, the rescue percentage has been adjusted. The new version is called 1.1.

    1.0: New criteria

    New criteria for the cleaning of liquid-damaged electronics have been adopted. The criteria are version 1.0 and are valid even on December 31, 2024.
